BEST MALE SOLO ARTIST > TAEYANG
He’s been breaking hearts left and right as Big Bang’s Sol, but after branching out this year with his first full-length album, “Solar”, it’s safe to say that Taeyang’s been deified into Korea’s ‘Sun God’ with his powerful dance moves, sweet songs, and killer body.
When Taeyang calls, we know that the ladies will answer: “I’ll Be There”.
Congratulations!
BEST FEMALE SOLO ARTIST > BoA
After a two year hiatus from the Korean music industry, BoA has confidently reclaimed her title as “Korea’s Pop Queen” with her comeback single, “Hurricane Venus”.
Stunned with her “electronic, manic, supersonic, bionic energy”, fans understood once and for all that BoA was no longer the ‘Atlantic Princess’ they were so accustomed to – she had grown into her own as a sexy, confident woman who didn’t hesitate to blow past her old image concepts.
Congratulations!
BEST MALE GROUP > SUPER JUNIOR
With Hangeng declaring that he would quit the group back in December 2009, Super Junior had a bit of a rocky start to their new year. Nevertheless, they were determined to seize 2010 with the support of their devoted fans.
Crooning “Bonamana, bonamana” (“Whether you look or not, look or not”), Super Junior consistently delivered flawless choreography, charmed with their individual talents, and to top it all off, held a phenomenal tour across Asia.
With the international K-pop community looking on, these boys acquired the honour of being 2010’s “Best Male Group”.
Congratulations!
BEST FEMALE GROUP > 2NE1
With an explosive triple-track comeback, 2NE1 cemented their status as Korea’s hottest girl group this year. In fact, with ties to designer Jeremy Scott and Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, there’s little doubt that they’re gearing up to go international.
Savoring their multiple #1 hits with their champagne, these ladies’ are surely chanting, “Can’t Nobody, can’t nobody hold us down.”
Congratulations!
BEST ROOKIE ARTIST > MISS A
JYP Entertainment’s newest girl group, miss A, caught everyone’s attention with their catchy track, “Bad Girl Good Girl”, but many remained non-plussed since it was only their debut track.
Critics were left catching their breath after miss A bowled them over with their second major hit, “Breathe”. They’re on the up and up, and everyone’s looking out for miss A.
Congratulations!
MOST IMPROVED ARTIST > T-ARA
Back in 2009, if one had asked about T-ARA and their musical talents, most would have scoffed and replied, “What talents?” After hearing that the group trained for three years in order to debut, T-ARA delivered performances so disappointing that it was hard to believe that they trained at all.
Determined to prove that they had what it took to be stars, T-ARA returned to the practice rooms, rehearsed, rehearsed, rehearsed, and rocketeered back into the music industry with their single, “I Go Crazy Because of You”.
They’ve been going strong ever since, and the international K-pop community is looking forward to their next venture.
Congratulations!
SONG OF THE YEAR > SHINee – LUCIFER
SHINee’s “Lucifer” is the quintessential pop track – energetic and aggressive, these boys delivered a sharp choreography to accentuate their edgy sound.
Locking down awards for both the ‘Song of the Year’ and “Dance of the Year’, “Lucifer” delivered everything K-pop fans were looking for this year.
Congratulations!
STORY OF THE YEAR > SHIN SE KYUNG AND JONGHYUNG DATING
When we revealed that actress Shin Se Kyung and SHINee’s Jonghyun were confirmed to be dating, the influx of traffic actually caused our servers to crash multiple times. We’d revive it, only to see it being swarmed by fans who demanded to know the details of this shocking development.
It was the biggest story of the year, and while we wish the two great happiness, we’re also hoping for the sake of our site that they don’t break up. No server in the world will be able to handle that much traffic.
Congratulations!
BEST CHOREOGRAPHY > SHINee – LUCIFER
SHINee’s “Lucifer” is the quintessential pop track – energetic and aggressive, these boys delivered a sharp choreography to accentuate their edgy sound.
Locking down awards for both the ‘Song of the Year’ and “Dance of the Year’, “Lucifer” delivered everything K-pop fans were looking for this year.
Congratulations!
BEST SOCIAL NETWORK PERSONALITY > HEECHUL (SUPER JUNIOR)
If asked to choose between giving up Twitter or his styling products, it’s likely that Heechul would chuck his products out the window in a heartbeat.
Having already conquered Twitter’s “Top 10 People” category on their “Top Twitter Trends of 2010” chart, it comes as no surprise that the Super Junior member landed himself yet another award for his godlike tweeting abilities.
With his hilarious selcas and consistent updates, we crown Heechul as the celebrity with the best social network personality!
Congratulations!

This time it’s yes24 (main book/cds/dvd online shop in Korea) that announced the release of super show 2 DVD.
There is no picture, price or extra information but the release date is still october 31st!
It’s the second site announcing it (and I personally trust yes24 more, also in a tweet to one of our members, yesasia also confirmed there would be a super show 2 DVD by the end of the month)
So we can say this time it’s 99% sure (Will always have a doubt until I see a picture).
This post will be edited with more information as they come.
